Spin Quantum Plasmas — New Aspects of Collective Dynamics
نویسندگان
چکیده
Quantum plasmas is a rapidly expanding field of research, with applications ranging from nanoelectronics, nanoscale devices and ultracold plasmas, to in-ertial confinement fusion and astrophysics. Here we give a short systematic overview of quantum plasmas. In particular, we analyze the collective effects due to spin using fluid models. The introduction of an intrinsic magnetization due to the plasma electron (or positron) spin properties in the magnetohydro-dynamic limit is discussed. Finally, a discussion of the theory and examples of applications is given.

Spin solitons in magnetized pair plasmas
A set of fluid equations, taking into account the spin properties of the electrons and positrons in a magnetoplasma, are derived. The magnetohydrodynamic limit of the pair plasma is investigated. It is shown that the microscopic spin properties of the electrons and positrons can lead to interesting macroscopic and collective effects in strongly magnetized plasmas. In particular, it is found tha...

In this paper, we investigated the corrected plasmon dispersion relation for graphene in presence of a constant magnetic field which it includes a quantum term arising from the collective electron density wave interference effects. By using quantum hydrodynamic plasma model which incorporates the important quantum statistical pressure and electron diffraction force, the longitudinal plasmons ar...

In this paper, by using a quantum hydrodynamic plasma model which incorporates the important quantum statistical pressure and electron diffraction force, we present the corrected plasmon dispersion relation for graphene which includes a k quantum term arising from the collective electron density wave interference effects (which is integer and constant and k is wave vector). The longitudinal ...
متن کاملExchange effects in plasmas: the case of low-frequency dynamics.
Recently, there has been a surge of interest in nonequilibrium collective quantum models, where particle dispersion and spin are examples of effects taken into account. Here, we derive a kinetic plasma model containing fermion exchange effects. Exchange interactions are of great importance in many systems and have no classical analogy. Our model therefore constitutes a possible probe of collect...
متن کاملTheoretical Aspects of Collective Mode Excitations by Energetic Ions in Tokamaks
A general review of our present understanding of MeV ion dynamics in magnetically confined plasmas and their connection with collective mode excitations is presented, with particular emphasis on aspects that involve open questions. Both linear and non-linear theory issues are addressed, and the possible overlap with more general non-linear dynamics problems is discussed.
